Therapy allows us to have the space to process and make sense of our experiences and struggles and how they impact our ability to live meaningful and productive lives. I wholeheartedly believe that we have the wisdom we need to find serenity and utilize our inner personal power. As a therapist, my role is to hold a compassionate, skilled, and uplifting space for my clients to uncover the mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational blocks that may be contributing to their struggles. We can feel better and do better when we apply effective strategies to find joy and become more aligned with our inner wisdom. Along with my training in a variety of counseling techniques and models, I am especially passionate and well versed in utilizing Islamic psychology, spirituality as well as a holistic approach to well-being and mental health.
I have two bachelor's degrees in Marketing & Business from the Ohio State University and Islamic Studies from AlMaghrib Institute. I also have a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin in River Falls and am a Licensed School Counselor. I have work experience in education, mental health and counseling, and early childhood coaching. I also have extensive community service experience leading Islamic studies circles and classes, mentoring and counseling youth, women, and families. I am the founder of Hikma Academy, where I teach tafsir & Islamic studies for intentional living. I am also the author of Intentionally Rising, an award-winning workbook that incorporates Islamic principles of personal and spiritual growth. |
