Krystle is a Mexican-American counselor who integrates empathic understanding, trauma-informed, feminist, and culturally sensitive methods into her approach. She strives to build a genuine and compassionate therapeutic relationship to provide a non-judgmental space where people can openly uncover the full range of who they are. She also utilizes an anti-racism lens to inform how systemic racism impacts mental health.
She focuses on strength-based techniques and incorporates a wide variety of modalities, which are tailored to each unique individual. She is certified in Adaptive Internal Relational (AIR) Network Model, which is a neuro-developmental, competency-based model of therapy for those with developmental and complex trauma. She has also been trained in EMDR, Harm-Reduction, Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing.
Krystle enjoys working with a wide variety of individuals. Her specific areas of interest include working with adults who have family of origin concerns, anxiety, depression, substance use issues, intersectional identities, communication difficulties, life transitions, and childhood developmental trauma.
Krystle obtained her undergraduate degree at Metropolitan State University in Alcohol and Drug Counseling and a Master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University in Counseling and Psychological Services. She has worked in the co-occurring treatment field since 2011.
