Areas of Specialization

My areas of interest include, but are not limited to, working with anxiety, depression, trauma, interpersonal processes, emotional regulation, and ADHD. I enjoy supporting individuals with marginalized identities, BIPOC, Muslim-identified, college students, and clients who feel ready to make positive shifts in their lives.

My Decolonized/Anti-Oppressive Lens

Through an integrated approach that combines cultural and spiritual awareness, social construct theory, intersectional identities, and a trauma-informed lens, along with personal experiences, I hope to work towards destigmatizing mental health services, increasing access, and fostering a sense of belonging. Ongoing training to decolonize therapy and using an anti-oppressive lens is an integral part of my professional (and personal) development.

Therapy is for everyone, and you belong here!

What I Hope Clients Feel After Working With Me

I hope clients feel heard, understood, and accepted as their authentic selves. For those looking for skills-based therapy,  clients can expect to leave with new approaches and insights to implement outside of the session.

Why I Chose This Work

I always had an interest in the psyche and understanding individuals. As a first-generation immigrant, I also valued education and had many student affairs professionals who supported my success. I was able to find a graduate program that combined my interest in higher education and mental health. At the time, there were not many therapists or higher education professionals who represented my identities. Through this representation, I hope clients can increase their comfort in seeking services and feel welcomed.

I believe we all have great potential to live our lives the way we want, and we experience/live with challenges that may impair us at times. Along with utilizing a strength-based approach, I hope to support clients in managing their symptoms and keep working on the life they desire.

What I Enjoy Outside of Work

I enjoy quality time with loved ones, traveling, gardening, being in nature, and exploring new places and foods.
