Clinical Interests

I especially enjoy working with adolescents, while also enjoying working with children and adults. I primarily work with anxiety, depression, relational and social difficulties, attachment, and family dynamics. I also have a particular interest in supporting children and adolescents who are navigating the emotional and psychological impact of a medical diagnosis. I value working with people who may not have a specific diagnosis or concern, but simply need a space to be heard, understood, and supported.  In addition to therapy, I provide psychological assessments for individuals ages 6 and older, including assessment for neurodevelopmental concerns such as ADHD, autism, and learning disorders.

My Approach to Care

I try to understand each person within the full context of their life rather than viewing their experiences or symptoms in isolation. This means being curious about how culture, identity, relationships, family, and larger systems have shaped the way someone understands themselves and moves through the world. I also try to remain mindful that not every psychological concept or idea will fit every person, family, or culture in the same way and that what works for one person may not work for another. I approach therapy and assessment collaboratively and with the understanding that clients are the experts on their own experiences.

What I hope Clients Feel After Working With Me

More than anything, I hope clients feel heard and understood. I want people to feel that they have a safe space where they can show up as they are without needing to have everything figured out or put on a certain version of themselves. I hope clients leave feeling a little less alone and with the understanding that it is okay to not be completely okay. Therapy isn't about avoiding uncomfortable feelings; sometimes it is about creating enough safety to sit with those feelings, understand them, and grow through them.

Why I Chose This Work

I've been curious about people for as long as I can remember. Even as a child, I found myself wondering why people do the things they do and what shapes the way we think and feel. At the same time, I've always had a strong passion for helping children. It hurts my heart to see kids hurting, and being able to help lessen the pain, even in a small way, feels deeply meaningful to me.

What I Enjoy Outside of Work

I love reading, baking, spending quality time with the people I love, and exploring new coffee shops. I'm also a big fan of arts and crafts and am always down to try new projects, even if they don't turn out how I expected them to.

My Favorite Quote

One of my favorite lines comes from a poem by Erin Hanson - "What if I fall? Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?" It's a reminder that fear can sometimes keep us from taking chances or moving toward things we really want. It encourages me to remember that while there is always a possibility of falling, there is also the possibility of thriving, "flying," and discovering something new.
